Bakery Style Soft and Chewy Oatmeal Cookie

  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp All Spice
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 1/2 Cups Old Fashioned Oats
  • 1 Cup Raisins
  • 1/2 Cup Craisins


  • In an large bowl, whisk together flour, spices, baking soda, salt. Set Aside
  • With an electric or stand mixer cream together butter and both sugars. Mix until light and fluffy. Scrape sides. Add egg and vanilla and mix until well blended.
  • Add the flour mixture to the butter and sugar mixture little by little. Scrape sides of bowl. Mix until no flour spots remain.
  • Add oatmeal, craisins and raisins and mix until well combined. About 1-2 minutes,
  • Refrigerate cookie dough for 30 minutes.
  • Scoop dough using tablespoon or small scoop. Place dough balls about 2 inches apart. Gently flatten dough before baking.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Allow to cool for several minutes before removing from sheet pan and placing on cooling rack.
