Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F.
Prepare the butter for the food processor by dicing it into 1-inch cubes. Alternatively, to make it without a food processor, grate frozen butter with a box grater.
In a small bowl, mix together the cream, egg, and orange zest.
In the bowl of a food processor, pulse together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Add the wet ingredients to the flour mixture and gently combine until just moistened.
Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface, pat the dough into a large, flat circle, and cut it into wedges using a bench scraper.
Place the scones on a prepared baking sheet and bake for about 12 minutes or until very lightly browned on the edges. Be careful not to overbake.
