Instructions:

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Line a cookie sheet with a sheet of parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Melt the Candy Melts: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the candy melts in 30-second increments until they are smooth and creamy. Stir between each round of heating to distribute the chips and ensure even melting.
  3. Add Cinnamon Flavor: Once melted, add the cinnamon and the optional cinnamon oil and mix thoroughly. Adjust the amount of cinnamon oil to suit your taste preferences.
  4. Pour and Chill: Pour the cinnamon-flavored candy melt mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Use a spatula to spread it into an even layer, about 1/8 inch thick. Place the baking sheet in the freezer for about 30 minutes, or until the candy melt mixture has hardened completely.
  5. Break into Chips: Once hardened, remove the baking sheet from the freezer. Use a large knife or a pizza cutter to break the hardened candy melt mixture into small, chip-sized small pieces. (If it’s too hard to cut, wait 8-10 minutes for the chocolate to soften and try again)
  6. Store and Enjoy: Transfer the homemade cinnamon chips to an airtight container and store them at room temperature until ready to use. Enjoy them on their own as a snack or incorporate them into your favorite recipes for an extra burst of cinnamon flavor.
